Suppose that you are running a content marketing agency that creates content for clients. This means that both your clients and you need to manage the content workflow as each need to track the schedule and deadlines.

Traditionally, handling a workflow as such enforces you to create sheets, documents and maintain two to three documents to manage the back and forth process. On the other hand, the client will also have to maintain a separate document with the content you’ve given back to them.

This is a highly inefficient, time-consuming and unproductive process.

Enter, Seamless Content Sharing

WriterGate bridges the gap in content sharing across organizations and teams by using a feature called “Content Import”. It’s a free feature that is available users on the Free, Content Team and Enterprise plan.

And, you can seamlessly import content across workspaces in just three simple steps.

Step 01 — Providing The Draft URL

Obtain the Draft URL of the content that you are looking to import. WriterGate uses this URL to securely import the content into your workspace. If you are an end-client looking to import the content you’ve given to your content management firm, ask them to share the Draft URL

Provide the Draft URL in the Import Wizard that can be accessed by clicking the workspace name on the sidebar and by clicking “Import Article”.

2. Previewing the article

Step 02 enables users to gain a detailed preview of the content that they are going to import onto their workspace.

3. Customizing the article

WriterGate allows you to perform your own customizations to the content before importing it into your workspace. For example, WriterGate allows you to modify the:

  1. Title
  2. Due Dates (Write + Review)
  3. Management Labels
  4. Workflow Status
  5. Content Writer
  6. Content Reviewers

However, you can choose to import the content without making any changes as well.

And finally, click “Import” and that’s it! You’ve successfully obtained content from a third party without having to go through the hassle of gaining access to a sheet, calendar, doc or anything!
